Guilty Pleasures Event @ The Drake!

Hello fashion darlings! It's SFP here with the scoop on the latest TFI/Drake event, Guilty Pleasures, which took place on Saturday.

I immediately fell in love with some knits that were being featured in the window, regardless of their involvement in the show.

Once inside the room was bustling with fashion lovers, mainly sitting and enjoying the sold-out brunch connected with the affair.

The bar was lined with pieces auctioned off to help benefit the Toronto Fashion Incubator. There were prizes from various Toronto companies, as well as some of the designers featured in the event!

There were lots of accessories featured, many vibrant colours and patterns!

I was able to meet Natalie Good of Andy Hall. The clothing that she showcased was fun and modern while being able to fit into any wardrobe. Versatile and comfortable! What more could a girl need?

I really liked the fur scarves, but the designer was hiding when I stopped by!

As the brunch moved along, models wearing pieces by all of the designers walked down the center stairs on the main floor and made their way through the whole event!

I made my way to the bottom floor, and saw some more jewelry! I was able to talk to Patricia Lynne Pickney about her extensive jewelry collection from around the world. Pangea Collection included many  unique pieces, including wooden bracelets and metal bell charms, decorated with intricately cut patterns of leaves and abstract symbols.

I ventured over to the With Love booth, where I found the model from upstairs. Carrie Russel designs a sultry set of sleep wears and lingerie, with a pinup-inspired flare. From funky floral bustiers to sleek sleepwear, she has a budding collection that I'd love to get into bed with ;)

Unfortunately I had to leave early, but the event looked like a lot of fun and I was able to meet some really fun aspiring Toronto designers!

Nella Bella Bags Sample Sale

This past week, wandering through the slush of downtown Toronto, I decided to hit up the Nella Bella bag sample sale in my old stomping grounds of 401 Richmond. A building riddled with the best of Toronto's aspiring artistic minds, as well as the occasional fashionista and clothing line.
I walked up the stairs and down the hall to the red door of suite 222, to hear the room bubbling with conversation of it's eager inhabitants. I was greeted warmly by the staff, who mingled so closely with the customers it was hard to tell the two apart!

Here are some of the smaller purses and bags that were displayed on the table! So cute!

I was fond of the shoulder-bags, I'm a big bag person I can't help it!

Totally loved the lines on the neon green bags - I think they were my favourite!

Although there were some other contenders...

Much like those who preceded me in the room, as I walked in deeper, I was immediately accepted into the Nella Bella clan, they told me of an upcoming event they're helping sponsor on February 10, called Love A Heart. It's a bachelor/bachelorette auction. The proceeds of the event are going towards the Heart & Stroke Foundation, and the highest bidder/donator will receive a Nella Bella bag! (Event is at The Hideout *** (more information listed at the bottom of the entry)
As I started to take pictures of the bags I overheard one of the girls saying she felt like she could never shop at Coach without feeling like she was cheating on Nella Bella.

That kind of bag loyalty is rare amongst most bag-lovers I've met in the fashion world. The reason behind it is she must see no reason to stray from her favourite company, as they have all of her purse-needs. Their purses carry a variety of styles that could be described as sophisticated, flashy, and sometimes casual, depending on what you're looking for.
